Dear Friend,
I want to take a moment to inform you of an unexpected update with regards to my pregnancy. It was confirmed this past Friday that my scheduled C-section delivery has been moved up again to this coming Tuesday, September 11. Both baby and I are perfectly fine, but multiple factors have resulted in doctors choosing to deliver earlier than 39 weeks. To be honest, I am absolutely ecstatic about it and can't wait for the moment to arrive.
As a result, last Friday was my last patient day prior to Maternity Leave commencing. Officially, it began today, September 8th and will end on Wednesday, September 26th. I will return to care for patients on Thursday, September 27th with a normal schedule.
While I am gone, some of our other specialists will be available to address any acute dental issues. They've done so in the past, during departures such as this one, and I am very grateful to them for doing so. With your help, I've been able to address any issues that could have resulted in emergencies during my leave. If for any reason you have any concerns, I ask that you please call our office so that you may be triaged by Luz, our assistant of 8 years. She will consult with me over the phone with regards to your issues so that we can refer you to the proper on-call care provider.
Thank you for being so wonderful and patient with me over the course of the last few months. I am always humbled by the genuine affection, patience and understanding I am shown by all of my patients and colleagues. As a result, I have been able to provide you with care through all 9 months of my pregnancy. I am leaving you for a short period of time with much peace in my heart that you will be fine until my return.
A special thanks goes to my Staff, including Luz, Ashley, Mary, Mandy, Deanna and EJ who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to be my hands and feet I needed them most. This might be a fairly new team, but it is presently the right team and I am very proud of each and every one of them for their dedication, drive, passion and commitment to the practice. Luz, Ashley and Mary will be at the office during my leave working on very important projects and items that they can't get to when we are providing patient care. Please know that our Staff will be available to serve your needs every day from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Please do not hesitate to call with questions.
Thank you, once again, for everything. We'll be sending out another communication announcing the birth of the baby, so please keep an eye out on Tuesday for a quick update.
With warmest regards,
Dr. Sandra Reyes, DDS
aka "Doc"
